Based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, Little Women had its Australian premiere in Sydney, 2008.
Little Women focuses on the four March sisters played by Kate Maree Hoolihan (We Will Rock You) as Jo, Octavia Barron-Martin (Les Miserables) as Meg, Erica Lovell (Spring Awakening) as Amy and Jodie Harris as Beth. David Harris starred as suitor John Brooke along with Stephen Mahy (Jersey Boys) as Laurie and Hayden Tee (Les Miserables) as Professor Bhaer.
The Australian production ran for a limited season and was the final show produced by the then National Musical Theatre Company, Kookaburra which launched just two years earlier but failed to stay afloat. Kookaburra’s other productions were Pippin and Company.
