David’s solo show, Time is a Traveller is an intimate, personal and candid story of one of Australia’s most acclaimed leading men.
Time is a Traveller toured nationally in 2014, weaving the songs and stories that helped shape David’s career. From growing up in the country, the embarrassment of his first school musical and talent quests in RSL clubs, to yodeling in the Swiss alps and his Helpmann Award nominated portrayals of Chris in Miss Saigon, Fiyero in Wicked and Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde.
David won Theatre People’s Pro Choice Award for Best Male Cabaret Performer for Time is a Traveller which featured musical direction by Bev Kennedy and David Cameron and appearances by Amanda Harrison (Wicked), Suzie Mathers (Wicked), Elise McCann (Matilda), Marika Aubrey (Matilda) and Ana Marina (Phantom).
The live DVD is now available in the SHOP.
“David Harris, as one of Australia’s leading men of musical theatre, is one of only a small club of make performers with name recognition and instant credibility… it’s one of those rare, much-desired moments in cabaret when an artist moves into the song and acts it while they sing as if they have no other choice. On that small Hayes stage, in this one song, Harris reminds us that he is a star.” – AussieTheatre (full review)
